Event Information
Oh myyy! The University of South Florida College of Arts and Sciences is bringing George Takei to the USF Sun Dome on Monday, April 18, 2015, as part of the college’s Frontier Forum lecture series.
Takei, whose popularity spans generations, is known for his role in “Star Trek” and for his presence on Facebook and Twitter. Takei’s story goes where few stories have gone before. From a childhood spent with his family wrongfully imprisoned in a Japanese Internment Camp during World War II to becoming one of the country’s leading figures in the fight for social justice, Takei remains a powerful voice on issues ranging from politics to pop culture.
The Frontier Forum lecture series is presented by the USF Phi Beta Kappa Alumni Faculty and sponsored by the USF Office of the Provost and the USF College of Arts and Sciences. Since 2010, the Frontier Forum has hosted several notable speakers such as Jane Goodall, Neil deGrasse Tyson, Michio Kaku and Rory Kennedy.
