BOXING RETURNS TO TAMPA’S YUENGLING CENTER WITH
“SATURDAY NIGHT BRAWL II”
Tickets go on sale Friday, May 24 at 10:00 AM
TAMPA, FL – Boxing is making its return to the Yuengling Center with Saturday Night Brawl II on Saturday, July 27. The fight, presented by Alessi Promotions, will feature the return of Florida based boxers Iron Alverez, Tracy Smith, Mike Ford, Sonny Duversonne and James “JT” Taylor, with more fighters to be announced soon.*
Iron Alvarez, Featherweight (6-0-0, 6 KO’s)
Winter Haven Boxing Gym
After winning by first round KO at the previous Saturday Night Brawl event, Alverez will look to continue his streak of six KO’s in two rounds or less in Miami later this month. Alverez made his pro debut August 5, 2017 and has since become a force to be reckoned with among Florida boxers.
Tracy Smith, Cruiserweight (1-0-0, 1 KO)
Winter Haven Boxing Gym
Air Force Veteran and 21-year Polk County Sherriff’s Department veteran, Smith made his professional debut with a KO win at the Yuengling Center during the March Saturday Night Brawl event. He posted an impressive 32-1 (21 KO’s) as an amateur, including an undefeated streak since 2005.
Mike Ford, Heavyweight (6-1-0, 5 KO’s)
Sarasota Boxing Club
Nicknamed “Ford Tuff,” Ford scored a knockout in his previous fight at the Yuengling Center. His win came on the same University of South Florida campus where he played football from 2007-2009 as a running back. During his best season with the USF Bulls, he scored 13 TD’s while running for 645 yards.
Sonny Duversonne, Welterweight (7-0-2, 4 KO’s)
Sarasota Boxing Club
Nicknamed “Prime time” and known for being extremely aggressive in the ring, Duversonne has been undefeated in nine fights over a 16-month pro career. He made a splash with an impressive knockout win during the previous Saturday Night Brawl fight and will be looking for a repeat this July.
James “JT” Taylor, Lightweight (1-0-0, 1 KO)
Teknique Boxing Gym
Taylor is known as a respected striking coach for top UFC contender’s Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza and Alan Patrick. The Georgia native owns the Teknique Boxing Gym in Minneola, FL and works to promote physical fitness through the sport of boxing to all age groups.
