Multiple Grammy-nominated Matt Dunkley is one of the world’s leading orchestrators, arrangers and conductors, and boasts an impressive career intertwined with the world of cinema. With a portfolio spanning over 200 movies and a diverse array of collaborations, Matt’s work stands out.
His long-standing partnership with renowned composer Hans Zimmer has been evident in blockbuster films such the third and fourth “Pirates of the Caribbean” movies, “Inception,” “The Dark Knight,” “The Dark Knight Rises,” “No Time To Die,” “Kung Fu Panda 2,” “Kung Fu Panda 3” and “Top GunM: Maverick.” Further movie credits include “Barbie,” “Judy,” “Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation,” “Star Wars: Andor,” “The Great Gatsby,” “Moulin Rouge,” “Love Actually,” “The Mummy,” “Iron Man,” “Elizabeth: The Golden Age,” “The Four Musketeers,” “Storm Force” and many more, as well as several series for British television and a number of video games including “Gotham Knights,” “Halo 4,” “Beyond: Two Souls” and “Halo 5.”
Matt has also contributed to the success of pop and rock acts, adding his touch to chart-topping hits. His collaborations extend to renowned celebrities such as Billie Eilish (his co-arrangement of her Bond song “No Time To Die” reached number 1 in the UK charts), Dua Lipa, Lizzo, U2, Sam Smith and many more.
Having conducted esteemed orchestras worldwide, including the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the London Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, the Hong Kong Philharmonic and the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, to name just a few, Matt’s influence extends across the globe. His musical expertise has not only graced the silver screen but has also left an indelible mark on theatre and ballet. Matt’s journey from studying at the London College of Music to receiving an honorary Doctorate of Music in 2023 is nothing short of extraordinary. Embracing the world of contemporary dance and crafting critically acclaimed solo albums, Matt continues to put his stamp on the world of music and film.
Hans Zimmer has scored more than 500 projects across all mediums, which combined, have grossed more than 28 billion dollars at the worldwide box office. Zimmer has been honored with two Academy Awards®, three Golden Globes®, five Grammys®, an American Music Award, and a Tony® Award. His work highlights include “Dune: Part One,” “Top Gun: Maverick,” “No Time to Die,” “Gladiator,” “The Thin Red Line,” “As Good as It Gets,” “Rain Man,” “The Dark Knight” trilogy, “Inception,” “Thelma and Louise,” “The Last Samurai,” “12 Years A Slave,” “Blade Runner 2049” (co-scored w/ Benjamin Wallfisch) and “Dunkirk,” as well as David Attenborough’s “Prehistoric Planet,” and Denis Villeneuve’s “Dune: Part Two,” the follow-up to his Academy Award®-winning score for “Dune: Part One.” Zimmer most recently created the score for Steve McQueen’s “Blitz,” which premiered at the BFI London Film Festival. Starring Saoirse Ronan and Harris Dickinson, the film released in theaters on November 1, 2024. Upcoming, he scored Joseph Kosinski’s “F1,” which is set to premiere on June 27 from Warner Bros. Beyond his award-winning compositions, Zimmer is a remarkably successful touring artist, having recently concluded his first North American “Hans Zimmer Live” tour, after the tour’s second round in Europe. He has also performed in the Middle East at Dubai’s renowned Coca-Cola Arena for two consecutive nights as well as Formula 1’s Singapore Grand Prix. His concert film Hans Zimmer & Friends: Diamond in the Desert was released in cinemas worldwide on March 19 and features live performances of Zimmer's most revered compositions, as well as conversations with his closest collaborators, including Billie Eilish, Sir Christopher Nolan, Denis Villeneuve, Finneas, Jerry Bruckheimer, Johnny Marr, Pharrell Williams, Tanya Lapointe, Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya. Due to the great success and the never-ending demand, an extended, brand-new tour through Europe will follow from fall 2025 / spring 2026.
